Jorge Hernández’s painting takes shape in that uncertain territory between reality and fiction, memory and imagination.

His scenes resemble film frames frozen in time. Isolated figures, landscapes, architecture, cars, open spaces and universes linked to virtual reality appear charged with a silent tension, as though something had just happened—or were about to.

Cinema runs through much of his work. His compositions have a strong narrative dimension and an atmosphere of suspense, yet Hernández avoids offering closed explanations. Rather than telling a complete story, he introduces clues, silences and small unexpected elements that invite the viewer to participate.

In his work, landscape is not merely a backdrop. It becomes an emotional space in which the human figure often appears small before what they contemplate, remember or imagine.

The Suspended Moment brings together works that speak precisely of this intermediate moment: time held still within the image and the brief space that opens between the painting and the person looking at it.

Because in the work of Jorge Hernández, the story is never completely finished.
The viewer always arrives halfway through it.
