Tatiana Blanqué is a visual artist born in Barcelona (Sant Cugat del Vallès, 1971) and a graduate in Fine Arts from the San Jorge Academy (University of Barcelona). With a career spanning two decades devoted entirely to her artistic vocation, she has gained both national and international recognition, exhibiting in cities such as Rome, New York, Amsterdam, Paris, and Andorra la Vella, as well as Barcelona, Girona, Lleida, Pamplona, Bilbao, and Madrid.
Descended from a family connected to the worlds of fashion, photography, and design for several generations, Tatiana has been involved in painting from a very young age. This passion for creativity has shaped her entire artistic career, just as her search for meaning has been reflected in each of her collections since her first exhibitions in the late 1990s.
“My constant need to find a way forward and my determination to understand how our surroundings can affect us so directly—and how we, in turn, affect them—have always been, and continue to be, my driving force. I want to find authenticity in our reality, whatever that reality may be. I am fascinated by how we see ourselves reflected in mirrors and how our own shadow defines our reason for being. I like to select small fragments of natural reality and frame parts of them within precise geometric forms, focusing on what interests me so that I can enjoy and control them. I want there to be respect for nature and an understanding of the importance it has in our lives. We must raise society’s awareness of the need to protect that which gives us life: Nature,” the artist explains.
Consistent in both her work and its conceptual development, she sees art as a necessity—a means of expressing her emotions and feelings, as well as a platform from which to engage in dialogue about contemporary awareness. Convinced that art and nature are bound together by indestructible ties, her artistic philosophy pays tribute to the importance of simplicity, the organic, the natural, and, above all, the authentic.
“Nature, which is an integral part of my life, gives me the opportunity to enter into my own thoughts. Its purity, its nakedness, its diversity, its disorderly order, its almost noisy silence, its sense of collective solitude, its lights and shadows… All of this, contrasted with the timelessness of an ever-white background, can express whatever each person chooses to read into it. Personal compositions, genuine and silent, mine and yours.
