Artist
A distinguished architect of his graduating class, he holds a Master’s degree from the Madrid School of Architecture (E.T.S. de Arquitectura de Madrid) and a PhD in Fine Arts from the Complutense University of Madrid (U.C.M.). Since 2003, he has been an academic member of the International Gentilician Academy “Il Marzocco” in Florence, Italy. Since 2005, he has been an Official Academician of the International Academy “Greci-Marino” in Vercelli, Italy.
From 2011 to 2017, he conducted research into the objectivity of the work of art, culminating in a new model of creative aesthetic experience based on vitalist and existentialist thought.
In 1998, he founded the artistic group Tres en realidad. In 2009, he founded the Ra del Rey art space, marking a new stage in Madrid, and in 2010, the artistic group El Emperador Desnudo, which managed the Al Marge Espai d’Art space in Jávea.
He is a member of the Madrid Association of Visual Artists (Visual), VEGAP, and Artists Without Borders of Madrid.
My works are conceived as abstract spatial structures in which forms, colours, lines, letters, numbers, geometric shapes, and figurative elements coexist. All of these are treated with equal importance. There is no defined subject, nor do I intend to communicate any particular message, although, for reasons I cannot explain, the human figure has always been present in my compositions.
At first, I apply forms and colours to the surface automatically; then I observe the result and try to discover what is emerging. If I experience a certain fascination with what I perceive, I continue in that direction; if not, I add more materials…
Only when I have not been conscious of what has occurred during the process do I know that the work has depth. The most important thing is to let go of concentration so that my rational mind does not take control of the process. As Gandhi said: when the ego dies, the soul awakens. It is not easy to keep my ego—reason and feelings—outside the aesthetic experience, but it is the only way… I try to paint from the depths of my being.

He has received various awards, including the Campo de Criptana Painting Award, selection for the Valdepeñas Painting Award, the Heritage Award, and the Alcázar de San Juan Painting Award, among others.
Since 1994, he has chosen not to participate in competitions and has only served as a jury member.
He has received grants from MEAC Costa da Morte and LTG Banja Luka.
His work is included in collections such as the Caja Madrid Foundation, the National Library of Spain in Madrid, the Community of Madrid, Madrid City Council, the Museum of Contemporary Art of Salta (Argentina), the Museum of Contemporary Art of Florianópolis (Brazil), and the Museum of Contemporary Spanish Printmaking in Málaga, among others, as well as in major international and private collections.
