Patrick Fossey began studying oil painting in Y. Ramette workshop in Paris between 1963 and 1966, then studied at the workshop of the sculptor René Couturier and at the Ecole Supérieure Nationale des Beaux-Arts in Paris between 1969 and 1975, graduating in Architecture.

During a later stay in Mexico, he studied at the University of Veracruz and attended the workshop of the sculptor Rafael Viard. As a professor at the University of Veracruz -from 1980 to 1984- he taught Basic Design and Urban Landscape, and at the Escuela Superior de Diseño Gestalt de Jalapa he directed diploma dissertations in three subjects, from 2004 to 2006.

However, he would not begin exhibiting until 1978, in a collective held in Washington D.C. in 1978. Two years later he would exhibit his first solo show at the El Teatro de Córdoba Gallery (in the state of Veracruz) with polychrome sculptures. It will not be until 2008 when he returns to make an individual exhibition of his sculptures at the Agora Gallery in Jalapa.

In 2011 he exhibits his paintings for the first time in an individual exhibition in Acapulco, and in 2015 in Donmarie Dontilly (Island of France).
